If you do not have one, you can obtain a call sign that is specific only to United Radio Club channels by completing the form below. After you have submitted the form, you will receive an email to the one you provided with your URC callsign
A call sign is not a requirement to use our Zello channels. Although, those interested in radio or familiar with its etiquette may choose to obtain one.
What is a callsign? A call sign is like a nickname for you when using our channels. It is usually a mix of letters and numbers that identify an individual on the air (on the app). In the case of the United Radio Club, a callsign will start with the letters "URC", followed by numbers. A callsign given to an individual through our system only gives the user the ability to use the given call sign on our channels in the Zello app.
It does not give the individual permission to use the call sign elsewhere. Including, but not limited to, other licensed, or unlicensed radio services. Such as, amateur radio, GMRS, MURS, FRS, Business Band, or any other communication services.
A user can, if he or she chooses to, can use the call sign on the Zello app as their nickname/display name to identify themselves as members to other users. Please note that this does not give the user any authority to claim he or she is a licensed radio operator, holding a license from the federal government, or any other equivalent entity.
Please see our call sign lookup page for more information and to see what call signs have been already assigned to members. Any other information pertaining to call signs or the use of them, you may also check our rules page.
